Tenaris announces the acquisition of AllTorque’s oilfield division, a leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM) known for its sophisticated tubular running technology. Building on a strong existing partnership, this move enhances Tenaris’s WISer solutions for Rig Direct customers, advancing well integrity, boosting operational efficiency, and expanding the company’s industrial footprint in Canada with enhanced service capabilities.
Headquartered in Red Deer, Alberta, AllTorque has been a recognized innovator for nearly 30 years. Originally established as AllWeigh Scale Systems, the company evolved into a North American leader in torque-turn monitoring systems, addressing industry demand for precision tools on the rig floor, while building deep cross-sector expertise. Launched in 2022, the torque-turn monitoring service has supported the running of 23.5 million metres of OCTG across more than 5,000 jobs in North America, South America and Europe.
“This acquisition marks another important step in Tenaris’s ongoing commitment to Canada and further extends our differentiation as the country’s leading OCTG manufacturer, especially in areas requiring seamless products and proprietary connections, and where our Rig Direct services are provided,” said Martín Castro, Tenaris President in Canada. “Over the past 25 years we have developed an unmatched industrial footprint combining seamless and welded pipe manufacturing, TenarisShawcor coating facilities, service centres near customer operations, and an R&D centre in Toronto. We are glad to continue expanding the scope of our services with AllTorque.”
Tenaris has invested more than $314 million CAD in its Canadian operations since 2020 and employs more than 1,200 people nationwide. Tenaris’s Canadian operations are anchored by its Sault Ste. Marie Industrial Centre where all of the company’s Canadian OCTG seamless and welded steel pipes are produced for the country’s oil and gas sector. The company also operates three service centres in Edmonton, AB, Grande Prairie, AB, and most recently, Fort St. John, B.C. to further strengthen regional support for its customers. It also runs four additional Alberta facilities specializing in OCTG accessories, coating and pipe threading, along with a commercial office in Calgary, AB and an R&D centre in Toronto, ON.
