MEXICO CITY- Fifteen thousand aluminum hexagons of varying dimensions cloak 28 curved steel structural columns at the Fernando Romero-designed museum. Covering 180,000 square feet reaching six stories, more than 66,000 pieces of art from the 15th to the 20th century are on display, the majority owned by billionaire Carlos Slim. The estimated $34 million museum opened in 2011 and is free to the public.
