Changeover and set up are often the Achilles’ heel of most Slitting Lines. While coils can run coil quickly, changeover and set up can be time consuming. In addition to having to set up the Slitting Heads, Strip Dividers must be set up as well. This is typically done manually offline and then the tooling bars are exchanged with the previously used set up. Red Bud Industries has recently developed automatic Strip Dividers. Based on the number of cuts and their widths, the system will automatically position each separator and lock them in place. No operator assistance is required.
