PENN STAINLESS PRODUCTS, INC. ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP TRANSITION AS FOUNDER JIM SEWARD RETIRES

Penn Stainless Products, Inc. today announced a planned leadership transition as founder and President Jim Seward retires after 47 years of leading the company he founded. Dan Seward, current Executive Vice President, will assume the role of President effective September 30, 2026.

Jim Seward and a business partner established Penn Stainless Products, Inc. in 1979 with the acquisition of Schrader’s Stainless, a fabrication business founded in 1949. Recognizing a growing need for stainless steel distribution and processing in the region, Seward transformed the business and positioned it for significant expansion. Under his leadership, Penn Stainless grew from a single 5,000-square-foot facility with 3 employees into a multi-site operation totaling more than 300,000 square feet and 250 employees.

“I am extremely proud of what our employees have built and grateful for the customers and business partners who have trusted us over the years. I have tremendous confidence in Dan [Seward] and in the future of the company,” said Jim Seward.

Dan Seward, who spent much of his youth working in and around Penn Stainless transitioned from his prior career as an attorney to join the company full-time in early 2014. He has since held several operational and leadership roles, including Executive Vice President since 2019.

The transition represents a continuation of the Seward family's long-term commitment to Penn Stainless Products, Inc., its employees, customers, and business partners. The company will remain focused on the values that have guided it since its founding: integrity, quality, customer service, continuous improvement, and a commitment to its employees and customers.

“I am fully committed to maintaining and building upon the core values my father imprinted in our company’s DNA. Because of Jim’s vision and leadership over the years, Penn Stainless is incredibly well positioned for continued success – and I welcome the challenge of carrying that legacy forward ensuring Penn Stainless continues growing, evolving, and ultimately remaining a dynamic player in the marketplace.” stated Dan Seward.
