January, 2025- A 32-foot-tall sculpture installed at the Nashville Tennessee Fairgrounds, Loqui is clad in 415 phrases contributed by Nashville residents to represent both what makes Nashville home and hopes for the city’s future. The work weighs 7 tons, and hot-dip galvanized steel was used for the support structure, according to the American Galvanizers Association. The coating eliminates the need to remove the cladding and panels for maintenance. Each frame of this piece was unique, and the fabricator and galvanizer worked closely together to complete the sculpture. Shaped a bit like a megaphone and illuminated at night, Loqui was designed by BLESSING HANCOCK.
