The Rocky Mountains inspired the design of the Frederic C. Hamilton Building, an expansion of the Denver Art Museum. It opened in 2006. Architect Daniel Libeskind’s 146,000-square-foot creation is covered in 9,000 titanium panels, all of which evoke the peaks and geometric rock crystals of the surrounding Rockies.
