The Making of a Custom Coil Lifter
What happens when a mill or service center contacts Caldwell and says they need a new Coil Lifter? Technical Sales Representative Dan Brenneman breaks it down.
- It starts with information gathering. You tell us everything about the way you need to move the coil … specs on the coil itself, orientation of the load, environmental conditions of the lift, details about your crane, estimated load cycles, and more. That gives us a solid starting point for your custom lifter.
- Conversations happen next. With your information in hand, one of our Technical Service Reps will give you a call to discuss everything about your processes, your plant, and your priorities. Our TSRs have been inside dozens and dozens of mills, service centers, distribution centers, and manufacturing locations and know how you need to work. Their experience in a wide range of lifter applications helps provide you with betters solutions
- The engineers get to work. Following ASME guidelines and armed with decades of industry experience, our mechanical and electrical engineers create the drawings exactly to your custom specs.
- You sign off on a final design. After a collaborative process, the approval is yours.
- The build. This is where the fun starts! Caldwell’s skilled fabricators, welders, electricians, and assemblers turn those drawings into reality.
- Testing. Now is the time to make sure it all works like it’s supposed to. Every detail is checked.
- Delivery. It’s time to get to work ... knowing you’ve made the right choice with Caldwell.
