A SOLDIER’S JOURNEY
 

December, 2024- WASHINGTON, D.C. A 58-foot-long bronze sculpture, A Soldier’s Journey, was unveiled Sept. 13, 2024, during an illumination ceremony at the National World War I Memorial in Washington, D.C. Sculptor Sabin Howard created a series of scenes featuring a soldier who answered the call to serve. Scenes involve the soldier taking leave of his family, follow him through a battle and returning home under the American ag. The 25-ton bronze composition combines 38 total gures to tell the story of the war, capturing a broad range of American men and women from all walks of life who served in the Great War.
